Since winning the Gramophone Début Disc Award in 2003, Simon
Trpčeski has led a stellar career as one of today's leading piano
virtuosi. Critics admire his unusually close relationship with his
instrument: "Trpceski’s hands frisked over the keys so lightly,
so unaffectedly, you knew immediately that the piano was his
home, his best and most faithful friend" (Daily Telegraph). With
a special affinity for the music of Rachmaninov, this second
injection of the cycle showcases this Macedonian pianist very
much in his natural element.
