Programme
Kahchun Wong, Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of The Hallé and Chief Conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, wowed 75,000 audience members at Klassik Open Air in Nuremberg with the world premiere of his orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Now, he brings this spectacular version to Hong Kong, blending the Western symphonic tradition with the vibrant sounds of Chinese instruments performed by soloists from the Singapore Chinese Orchestra – a true celebration of cultural collaboration. Hong Kong violinist Angela Chan, recent first prize winner of the Joseph Joachim Competition, performs Mendelssohn's timeless Violin Concerto, a work that sparkles with lyrical elegance and dazzling virtuosity.
The concert runs approximately 2 hours 15 minutes with an intermission.
