With Guy Braunstein as leader and violin soloist, the Hong Kong Philharmonic strings embark on a journey from Mozart’s youthful brilliance to Pärt’s profound stillness. Webern’s lush early Romanticism and Vasks’s searching, spiritual Viatore lead to a thrilling conclusion in Mahler’s reimagining of Beethoven’s fiery “Serioso” Quartet for string orchestra.
The concert runs approximately 1 hour 20 minutes without an intermission.
Guy Braunstein replaces the previously announced artist, Vineta Sareika, in the revised programme above.
