Bank of Communications brings to you: Hong Kong Phil in Beethoven 9

The pinnacle of Beethoven’s symphonies, the Ninth’s theme of universal brotherhood finds resonance in today’s world, and the symphony is frequently performed on occasions of great public celebration. With a quartet of internationally renowned soloists (Warren Mok, Liping Zhang, Ning Liang and Shen Yang) and the combined forces of the Shanghai Opera House Chorus and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Edo de Waart, this will be “A Ninth to Remember!”

The concert will also feature a newly commissioned work Rong by Hong Kong composer Fung Lam. The youngest Chinese composer to have been commissioned by the BBC, Lam has built an impressive portfolio of wide-ranging works that have been performed around the world.
