Born in Shanghai, Ba Wenjing began his violin lesson at age of four with Ms Zhang Xin, a famous educator in China. Since the age of eight, he studied with Ding Zhi Nuo, well-known Professor of Shanghai Conservatory.
In summer 2001, 2002 and 2004, Ba participated successfully in the Asian Youth Orchestra and had rehearsals in an extensive program of music for each summer in Hong Kong under Maestro Segiu Comissona. Concerts took place subsequently in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan as well as Hong Kong.
In summer 2006, 2007 and 2008, he participated successfully in the international Orchestra Academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival under the guidance of Christoph von Dohnanyi, Christoph Eschenbach, Ivan Fischer, Eiji Oue, Jaap van Zweden and Semyon Bychkov and he was titled the Concertmaster of the festival orchestra. Concerts took place in the course of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, in the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, at festivals in Interlaken, in Konzerthaus Berlin, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Armenia, the famous Mariinsky Theatre in St.Petersburg as well as in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. In addition he also participated in the chamber orchestra tour in spring 2007 under the guidance of Peter von Wienhardt and he was the Concertmaster of the Chamber orchestra. Concerts took place on the well known luxury cruise ship “MS Deutschland” and in Brussels for celebrating the Germany to become the leader of the European Community.
Ba entered the music high school attached to Shanghai Conservatory in 1999 and entered the Shanghai Conservatory in 2002.
Ba also studied String Quartet Programme in Madrid ( Spain ), “Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia” with Distinguished Professor Mr Rainer Schmidt, who is the member of Hagen Quartet. He also had master classes with Professor Walter Levin and Diemut Poppen and played the school orchestra tour in Spain under Maestro Sir Colin Davis. In addition he also studied in the University of Southern California with Distinguished Professor Ms Alice Schoenfeld. Ba joined the Hong Kong Philharmonic in 2008.
