Two Grammy-winning Superstars on a Musical Tour de force
Praised as “A violinist in a class of his own” (The Times), James Ehnes won a Grammy Award for his recording of Barber’s concerto alongside works by Walton and Korngold. He will showcase his signature elegance and superb interpretations of Barber’s lyrical and technically demanding concerto. Grammy Award-winning Italian conductor Fabio Luisi conducts the HK Phil in Mahler’s monumental Fifth Symphony, guiding the audience from profound darkness to radiant light via the heart-melting Adagietto, unfolding an emotional odyssey of unique breadth and intensity in the symphonic canon.
The concert runs approximately 2 hours 5 minutes with an intermission.
