With his quiet insights and care taken to make the music “superbly shaped” (The Times), Finnish conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste conducts Beethoven’s Eroica in his long-due HK Phil debut. The performance on Saturday in Sha Tin features Concertmaster Jing Wang in Beethoven’s lyrical Second Romance. Leading German concert organist Christian Schmitt joins the orchestra in a unique rendition of Bach’s famous D minor Toccata and Fugue.
The concert runs approximately 1 hour without an intermission.
HK Phil Jubilee Tickets ($50) will be available for selected concerts during counter sale period on a first-come, first-served basis. Each customer can purchase up to two tickets per programme (unless specified otherwise). These tickets are not available during subscription period, and no concessionary discount will be offered.
