Programme
Metamorphosis in Motion
Join the HK Phil and conductor Nathanaël Iselin for a vibrant concert of energy and transformation, framed by John Adams’s exhilarating Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Hindemith’s brilliant Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber. Thai pianist Poom Prommachart shines in Carl Vine’s Piano Concerto no. 2, whose finale ""Cloudless Blue” is inspired by the radiance of the Australian summer sky. The programme also features O Frabjous Day by Finnish composer Ilari Kaila, Composer‑in‑Residence at HKUST.
The concert runs approximately 1 hour 20 minutes without an intermission.
