Concert Cancellation and Ticket Arrangement: “BBC Planet Earth II Live in Concert” on 3 & 4 April 2020

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director Jaap van Zweden, our Board of Governors as well as the administration put the health and well-being of our audience, players and staff at the forefront of our priorities. Like most cultural organisations, we have made major adjustments to our regular activities in order to accommodate these exceptional circumstances.

In view of the latest situation of COVID-19, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced on 21 March 2020 that all LCSD cultural and leisure facilities, including the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, will continue to be closed until the end of April.

The advertised performances of “BBC Planet Earth II Live in Concert" at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 3 & 4 April 2020, 8pm, have been cancelled.  Ticket holders to the cancelled concerts, please submit your preferred ticket arrangement on or before 31 May 2020

Since over 15 performances have recently been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, over 10,000 tickets are caught up in the refund procedure. While we appreciate your understanding and patience during the refund process,  we are doing our best to explore new refund methods to speed up the process. Below are the options available for ticket holders of the cancelled concerts in April:

BBC Planet Earth II (HK Premiere)

Film screening with live orchestra performance.

Looking at our planet from the viewpoint of the animals that have to survive in some of the most inhospitable of environments, the BBC’s flagship 2017 series Planet Earth II broke new ground in its use of film-making techniques and set new standards in animal photography. It also enhanced those amazing images with a matchless musical score by Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and Jasha Klebe. Experience the wonders of our world in this spectacular programme.

Another concert "Swire Sunday Family Series - BBC PLANET EARTH II LIVE IN CONCERT" is provided for ages 3 or above.
