PucciniMadama Butterfly
First performance has been sold out; very limited seats at choir stall in second evening available.*
The Hong Kong Philharmonic's annual opera in concert has become the focal point of each season. Following the overwhelming success of Salome and Elektra, Edo de Waart now returns to the heartland of the operatic art-form─Italy. Puccini's Madama Butterfly never loses its immense emotional power, bringing together glorious singing, compelling drama and the timeless themes of love, trust and betrayal. Once again, de Waart has assembled a superb cast at the peak of the form headed by Chinese soprano He Hui and American tenor Andrew Richards, both of whom sing these roles this season on the operatic stages of London, Paris and New York.
*Vision and surtitles may be blocked for some seats in the choir stall.
