Experience the extraordinary collaboration of renowned singer-songwriter Agnes Chan and the HK Phil, conducted by Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman. Chan will share her heartwarming experiences meeting children around the world as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, pairing the inspiring stories with her equally captivating songs. Additionally, Chan will talk about important child-rearing issues, discussing her own journey of overcoming shyness and finding self-esteem through volunteer work. Don’t miss Chan’s touching music and commentary about the importance of caring for children.
The programme features Agnes Chan’s classic hits, including Returning Swallows, Happiness is Already Right Next to You, Carnations in the Rain, and Beyond the Rose Garden. It also showcases beloved global children’s songs and orchestral masterpieces, such as the Sherman brothers’ It’s a Small World, Yoon Geug-young’s Half Moon, Brahms’ Hungarian Dance no. 5, and Dvořák’s Slavonic Dance no. 8. Other highlights include three medleys of children’s songs, Cantonese classics and Japanese hits, arranged by local composer/arranger Ng Cheuk-yin.
The concert runs approximately 1 hour 15 minutes with an intermission.
