Pietari Inkinen takes us on a captivating musical journey featuring highlights from La vida breve and El amor brujo, two important works by the great Spanish composer Manuel de Falla. These are paired with Spanish-influenced orchestral pieces, Alborada del gracioso by Maurice Ravel, as well as Capriccio espagnol by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Charismatic flamenco singer María Toledo lends her voice to Falla’s poignant melodies in El amor brujo.

The concert runs approximately 90 minutes with an intermission.

Change of Conductor & Programme

We regret to inform you that guest conductor Josep Pons has to withdraw from the performances of “Spanish Fiesta” on 24 & 25 JAN 2025 at 8pm in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall due to health reasons.

The HK Phil is grateful to conductor Pietari Inkinen for stepping in for these performances, with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol replacing Ravel’s Rapsodie espagnole. Other details remain unchanged.

Ticket-holders may continue using their tickets for admission according to the date printed on the tickets to the updated performance.
