JOHN ESTACIOBrio: Toccata and Fantasy for Orchestra
CHOPINPiano Concerto no. 1Listen
STRAVINSKYPetrushka (1911 version)Listen

Pity poor Petrushka! A doll, magically brought to life to amuse folk at the fair, he suffers a wretched life when the crowds are gone – even a puppet knows loneliness and suffering. Stravinsky’s exotic score paints this tragic character with all the colours of virtuoso orchestra. Louis Lortie brings Chopin’s beloved first concerto to Hong Kong, and Canadian conductor Jean-Marie Zeitouni a gift from his homeland – Estacio’s vivacious work Brio.
