Programme
Making his first European tour as the new Music Director of the HK Phil, Tarmo Peltokoski leads the orchestra to eight cities across four countries, marking its debut in some of Europe’s most illustrious concert halls.
In Dortmund, Berlin, Hamburg, Germany, and Austria, Tarmo Peltokoski and the HK Phil join forces with pianist Martin Helmchen for Saint-Saëns’s delightful Carnival of the Animals. The programme also invites audiences on an epic journey of Wagner’s Ring — condensed and arranged by Henk de Vlieger, The Ring: An Orchestral Adventure captures the drama and grandeur of Wagner’s monumental cycle. Peltokoski and the HK Phil performed and recorded this work live at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall in June 2025, for the orchestra’s debut album released under Deutsche Grammophon label. The programme opens with Yao Chen’s newly commissioned Waltz of the Rolling Giants, written especially for the orchestra’s China and international tours in the 2026/27 season.
