Mahler

Symphony No.4

23-year old Taiwanese-American pianist Chen Weiyin is already making a name for herself following graduation from New York’s prestigious Juilliard School and further studies with the legendary Leon Fleisher. Nordic sounds open the concert with Magnus Lindberg’s imaginative treatment of Bach’s chorale Es ist genug and Edo de Waart returns to the lightest and most enchanting of Mahler’s symphonies which ends in wideeyed wonderment as a child imagines what heaven is like.
