Zinman is the Chief Conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra, Zurich
and Artistic Director of the famed Aspen Music Festival. Vienna at
the turn of the 20th Century was the undisputed musical capital of
Europe, home to the dazzling orchestral virtuoso Richard Strauss,
the searching and confessional Gustav Mahler and a radical new
school of composers, such as Anton Webern, who were about to
shake music to its foundations.
