Chinese soprano He Hui was unforgettable as Cio Cio San in the Hong
Kong Philharmonic’s 2006 concert performances of Puccini’s Madama
Butterfly. Her gloriously rich soprano voice ranges effortlessly from the
impassioned drama of Verdi’s Leonore in La forza del destino to the
delicate fragility of Liù in Puccini’s Turandot. Recently appointed Music
Director of Italy’s historic Arena di Verona, Shanghai-born conductor Lü Jia
won the hearts of Hong Kong audiences in 2006 conducting the HKPO’s
Symphony Under The Stars before an audience of 20,000 people.
