Ying Wa College Choir
Ying Wa College Choir was founded in the 1930s. Originally established as the Chapel Choir, it has since expanded and now comprises three ensembles: the Chapel Choir, the Intermediate Choir, and the Senior Choir, with a total of over 80 members. The Choir regularly performs at school assemblies, services, and various public events. Over the past eight decades, it has participated in numerous religious and inter-school choral activities, earning multiple championships and awards at local and international music competitions.
Beyond Hong Kong, the Choir has performed and engaged in cultural exchanges in countries including Japan, Finland, Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, UK, Sweden, and Norway. In recent years, under the baton of Mr Ernest Hui, the Choir has continued to excel on the international stage. Following its remarkable success at the Taipei International Choral Competition 2024 and the Singapore International Choral Festival 2025 — where it achieved Gold Awards across all five categories entered — the Choir attained further distinction at the World Choir Festival – Hong Kong 2026, winning two category championships and taking home the top honour: the Choir of the World Award.
