Talie Monin

South African born, Talie Monin, is an international jazz songstress, who has gracefully swayed onto global stages with her sweet, idyllic tone of voice, unique delivery and her vast knowledge of international jazz standards.


Talie made the decision to move to Paris earlier on in her life where she pursued vocal training at the American School of Modern Music. She then went on to attend the renowned Sarah Lazarus Vocal Atelier at the Bill Evans Piano Academy. Eventually making her way to Hong Kong where she continues to fortify her presence as a jazz performer.


Since being in Hong Kong, Monin has risen to widespread acclaim not only amongst the global jazz elite but she has also collaborated with renowned global luxury brands including Dior, Audemars Piguet and Carlyle & Co. Social Club. She has on numerous occasions performed at The Montreux Jazz Festival, The Freespace Jazz Festival, The French May Arts Festival and the Cosmopolis Festival at which she honoured the great Ella Fitzgerald with a performance entitled, "Ella Fitzgerald: A Life In Song". In 2022, Monin delivered a momentous performance accompanied by Ted Lo and The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.


In between these seminal moments in Monin's career, her debut album, 24 Strathay was released in 2019. In that same year, she won the award for “Best Female Jazz Artist” at the South African Jazz Awards. The songs reflect both her deep musical roots and her longstanding love for the Great American Songbook. 24 Strathay has been described by critics as, “A 21st century musical alchemy that’s pointing jazz towards the future...”.
