Rudolf Sárközy
Rudolf Sárközy comes from a distinguished family of seven generations of musicians. He began studying the cello at the age of five, he later turned to the double bass, which became his true instrument of artistic expression. At only thirteen, he shared the stage with world-renowned artists Mischa Maisky and Martha Argerich at the Mozarteum in Salzburg - a formative experience that shaped his musical path.
Rudolf has been a regular performer at the Kapos Festival for over fourteen years, appearing alongside some of Hungary’s most celebrated musicians, including Kristóf Baráti, István Várdai, Katalin Kokas, and Barnabás Kelemen. He is also a frequent guest at the Festival Academy Budapest and a long-standing performer at the Cziffra Festival. His career has taken him to major festivals and concert halls across Europe and Asia, including performances in Kronberg (Germany), Norway, and Japan.
As a co-founder of the Sárközy Collective, he continues to explore and preserve the musical traditions of Hungarian and Romani café music while integrating classical and contemporary influences.
