Lin Zhe
Trained in Germany, Austria and England, as one of the most prominent Chinese percussionists. She is an expert for contemporary concertos such as Tan Dun's Percussion Concerto (Tears of nature),Water concerto, Paper concerto and Earth concerto. Her repertoires also include works of John Cage, Joseph Schwantner and Steve Reich etc.
As a virtuoso soloist, Lin Zhe has successfully collaborated with multiple orchestras for performances such as China Philharmonic, Shenzhen symphony orchestra, China National Orchestra, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Kunming Nie’er, Suzhou, Guiyang symphony orchestra, Qingdao symphony orchestra, Lanzhou symphony orchestra, Harbin symphony orchestra, Ningbo symphony orchestra, and Guangxi Symphony Orchestras, among others.
Lin Zhe has made magnificent achievements in the field of percussion. She won the first prize at the 59th German International Percussion Omni Music Competition in Lubeck. What’s more important that she came to international recognition when she was awarded second prize at the 5th World Marimba Competition in Stuttgart, making her the first Chinese to be recognised as a top prize winner in a major international percussion competition. Additionally, She also won the top prize in the China International Marimba Competition, and she is also the only winner of the Yamaha Award in Austria.
Lin Zhe is also dedicated to education. She's a faculty member of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. She often gives master classes for radio, television and also for conservatories.
