Chiang Chi Chung is the founder and honorary life chairman of The Tertiary Putonghua Recitation Society. For many years he has been teaching at the University of Hong Kong and the Centre for Language Education of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He was so devoted to promoting the art of recitation that he founded The Tertiary Putonghua Recitation Society in the 1990s, and had led members of the society to perform in mainland China and Taiwan to audience acclaim.
Chiang hosted RTHK Putonghua programmes and was the chief adjudicator in the Annual Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao Putonghua Competition. He also gives seminars and workshops on the art of recitation on invitation from the Education Bureau.
