Change of Artists & Programme - Swire Maestro Series: Jaap Conducts Schubert's Unfinished Symphony

Further Change of Conductor & Concert Duration

Due to scheduling conflicts, Jaap van Zweden regretfully announces his withdrawal from the advertised performances of "Swire Maestro Series: Jaap Conducts Schubert's Unfinished Symphony" on 16 and 17 JAN 2026 in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall.

We regret to inform you that conductor Daniele Gatti, who was previously engaged to step-in with a new programme for this week, will be unable to travel to Hong Kong for the advertised performances of “Swire Maestro Series: Gatti Conducts Mendelssohn and Beethoven” on 17 & 18 JAN 2026 at the same venue, following medical advice after a minor procedure.

We are delighted that conductor Kahchun Wong has kindly agreed to step in to conduct these performances. The concert has hence been retitled to “Swire Maestro Series: Kahchun Wong Conducts Mendelssohn and Beethoven” and the repertoires remain unchanged. With an additional intermission after Mendelssohn's Symphony no. 4, the updated concert duration would be 100 minutes. CLICK HERE for the updated programme details.
