Rebecca Bottone studied at London's Royal Academy of Music. Recent and future engagements include Queen Tye Akhnaten (ENO)‚ Ilia Idomeneo and Giunia Lucio Silla (Buxton)‚ Bauci Bauci e Filemeno‚ Amore Orfeo ed Euridice and Weltgeist Die Schuldigkeitdes ersten Gebots (Classical Opera)‚ Peter Pan and Yniold Pelléas et Mélisande (WNO)‚ Yum Yum The Mikado‚ Clorinda La Cenerentola and Mabel The Pirates of Penzance  (Scottish Opera)‚ Amor Orfeo (La Nuova Musica)‚ Apolle e Dafne (Karlsruhe Handel Festival)‚ Yniold (Hong Kong Arts Festival)‚ Sophie The Mother and Mozart vs Machine (Mahogany Opera Project)  and Judas Maccabeus with Capella Crocoviensis.    

 

Further engagements include First Innocent The Minotaur (world premiere), First Niece Peter Grimes (ROH); Cricket/Parrott in Dove’s The Adventures of Pinocchio (Opera North, world premiere and Minnesota, US premiere); Blonde Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Aix-en- Provence); Marie in Wainwright’s Prima Donna (world premiere, Manchester International Festival); Tytania (Garsington); Anne Egerman A Little Night Music‚ Johanna Sweeney Todd‚ Liesl The Sound of Music; Carrie Carousel (Châtelet); Rosmene Imeneo (Barbican); Semira Artaxerxes, Maid Powder Her Face (Linbury). 

 

Rebecca has worked with many of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors; hightlights include Charmeuse Thais under Eschenbach with Renee Fleming, and performing with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi (Teatro degli Arcimboldi); the Philharmonia Orchestra under Sir Charles Mackerras; and the Tonhalle Zürich under Sir Mark Elder.

 

Recordings include Albert Herring with Richard Hickox; Adelaide di Borgognia and Ermione (Opera Rara). Film and TV includes BBC2’s The Genius of Beethoven‚ David Starkey’s Music and Monarchy and Steven Poliakoffs acclaimed film Capturing Mary.
