Anna Zhang Jingdan
Soprano Anna Zhang Jingdan received her Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree in 2021 and is currently studying for Master of Music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) under the tutelage of well-known soprano Professor Nancy Yuen. Zhang has received generous support from Duchess of Kent International Scholarship and Academy Development Fund Scholarships. She has been selected to attend masterclasses with various famous singers, including Darryl Edwards, Nelly Miricioiu and Warren Mok. She has also studied with world-acclaimed soprano Sumi Jo and Barbara Bonney.
Zhang performed in the Bösendorfer Hall at the Mozarteum International Summer Academy. She was invited to perform Mozart’s concert arias in the 35th Anniversary Academy Festival Presents Concerto Feast with the Academy Symphony Orchestra, conducted by guest conductor Andrew Mogrelia. In summer of 2021, she was privileged to sing as a soloist in The Great Wall Concert in Beijing, hosted by the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee. She was also invited to sing in the Worldwide Classical Music Concert with Futian Orchestra at the Shenzhen Futian District Cultural Centre. Lately, she made her debut as soprano soloist of Bach Mass in B minor with the HK Bach Choir and Orchestra under baton of Jerome Hoberman at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall.
At the HKAPA, Zhang has taken part in several full-scaled opera productions, including singing the lead in Mozart’s Idomeneo as Ilia in March 2021, as ensemble member in Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Die Zauberflöte. She has also sung in Opera Scenes as Micaela from Carmen, Nannetta from Falstaff, Dorabella from Così fan tutte, and has participated as ensemble singer in Die Fledermaus, Rodelinda, Lucia di Lammermoor, Hänsel und Gretel, L'elisir d'amore, The Merry Widow and West Side Story.
As one of the winners of RTHK Young Music Makers 2019, Zhang has recorded a series of TV productions and radio broadcasts for the RTHK. In 2020 she recorded for The Sound of Art which was hosted by the Hong Kong Museum of Art. She has also just recorded for an online concert series called The GBA Concert Hall.
