Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same.”
— Franz Schubert

If you have been inspired by the HK Phil in the past, we hope that you will remember our future and consider making a gift to the orchestra in your will, becoming a Continuo Circle member. Your gift will enable us to ensure that future generations will benefit from your generosity and that the orchestra you know and love will continue to flourish.

•  What is the Continuo Circle?
The Continuo Circle is a group of individuals who have made, or have indicated that they will make, a bequest to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

•  Why do we need bequest?
Bequests are extremely valued by the HK Phil because they provide a solid foundation. Only about 20% of the costs of putting on the concerts you love are covered by our ticket sales, so the HK Phil relies on the generous support of our funders in order to continue to inspire though the finest music making.

•  Where does the money go?

Support received though a bequest gift will be used as the donor directs, and may enables us to develop our education programmes or explore the most exciting artistic opportunities for the orchestra and Hong Kong.

If you do decide to make a gift in this way, please let us know so that we may invite you to join the HK Phil’s Continuo Circle and acknowledge your gift appropriately, as well as involve you and your family more closely with the orchestra.

You may be planning to remember us in your own will or you may like to make a gift in memory of a loved one who has passed.

•  How does it works?
  Making a bequest

You may wish to leave a general legacy or to specify support for a particular programme. Please contact us if you would like confidential advice on the appropriate wording for your gift.

A bequest to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra may take one of two forms:

  1. The first form empowers the HK Phil to apply funds received through a bequest at the Board’s discretion
  2. The second form may be directed toward a particular purpose, such as one of our concert or education programmes

You can make your gift with cash, stocks & bonds, property or possessions.

  Our code of conduct

We appreciate that this is a very private way of giving, so your enquiry will be handled confidentially and with sensitivity.

  Acknowledgement

We do hope that you will let us know if you are planning to leave the HK Phil a gift in your will, so that we can thank you for this tremendous support. By making a notified bequest, Continuo Circle patrons can enjoy acknowledgement.

The story of Mr. Daniel Yat Chiu Ng, former Board Member of the HK Phil

We would like to thank Daniel Ng Ltd. for bequeathing us a still-life oil painting by  Flemish artist Edwaert Collier
Mr. Daniel Ng, was a board member of the HK Phil from 2006-2013. Both a music and visual art lover, Mr. Ng remembered the HK Phil in his estate with a gift that reflects his passion for both art forms. His family and the HK Phil are celebrating the life of Mr. Ng and proceeds of his gift will be invested in a fund to support the education work of the HK Phil.
