Don’t Miss This Fantastical Programme!
Thanks to the generous and continued support of the Orchestra’s Principal Patron – Swire Symphony under the Stars is in its fifth year and is the most important public part of the Orchestra’s dedicated drive to open out the arts to the community.

Themed “2011 A Space Odyssey”, Swire Symphony under the Stars this year will bring to you a heavenly programme featuring classics that look to the heavens for inspirations, such as Richard Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra: opening, Debussy’s Clair de lune, Holst’s The Planets and the widely popular Reflection of the Moon on Erquan by Hua Yanjun. Directed by Perry So, the young and talented HKPO Associate Conductor who just came off a successful National Day performance, the HKPO will be joined by the young American soprano Lindsay Russell. Lindsay will dazzle with her angelic vocals in the arias selected from Mozart’s widely-popular opera The Magic Flute and Haydn’s opera Il mondo della luna. And what better way to round out an enthralling evening than J Strauss II’s The Blue Danube!
