Resignation of Chief Executive SO Hau-leung


[9 July 2010 – Hong Kong] The Hong Kong Philharmonic Society announces today the resignation of its Chief Executive Mr. SO Hau-leung. Mr. SO will continue in his present post until mid-November 2010 when he will leave the Society to pursue other interests.

Mr. Y.S. Liu, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Society regrets the departure of Mr. SO and expresses his thanks to him for his contributions to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra during his tenure.

Maestro Edo de Waart, the Orchestra’s Artistic Director and Chief Conductor says “I have enjoyed working with Hau-leung and am sorry to see him leave. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

The Society will begin an international search for Mr. SO’s successor immediately.
