HKPO first among Arts Groups to launch Ticket Voucher

Hong Kong, 28 November 2005 – The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO) is the first among the local arts groups to launch the ‘ticket voucher’ campaign. Ticket vouchers are gift vouchers that can be redeemed for tickets to the Orchestra’s concerts year-round. They are sold in books of ten, each voucher being valued at HK$50. During the promotional period, a 10% discount is given for each purchase of 10 books.

Joseph Wong, Head of Marketing of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, said: “Christmas and New Year is a busy time when people go shopping for holiday gifts. The HKPO ticket voucher would be the perfect gift for music lovers. Companies could also consider purchasing these vouchers to encourage their staff and associates to take a break from their demanding businesses schedules. We have already received strong support from various corporations at this initial stage of the launch.”

HKPO ticket vouchers are good for all HKPO programmes throughout the Season. Upcoming highlights include performances by four brilliant young Chinese pianists: including Rachel Cheung and Yundi Li with the Orchestra, and piano recitals by Colleen Lee and Lang Lang; continuation of Edo de Waart’s Mahler cycle with his second and fourth symphonies; and the annual Canto-pop concerts. Ticket prices are  as low as HK$100, with half-price concessions for students, seniors, CSSA recipients and people with disability.

HKPO Ticket Vouchers are sold at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra office and at HKPO concerts. Enquiries: 2721 2332.
