Imagine there were no music at a party! What would happen? Music has played a vital part in parties, social events, festivals since we were living in caves! In fact, music-making was probably one of our first social activities. And an orchestra is the ultimate music-making group. This season the HK Phil invites all students who attend our Schools Concerts to join our “music party”. We will listen to a series of festive and party pieces. K1-P4 students will learn a variety of dance music, from elegant ballet music to passionate Latin American music. P5-S3 students will hear exotic pieces from different countries; leading you to a glamorous musical world. S4-S6 students are going to join a “music party” across time periods. We invite senior students to explore the musical and cultural elements used in festivals and social events.

Each hour-long concert is tailored to the needs of your specific class’ age group. Each concert can be enjoyed by all your students, whether they are studying music or not. All concerts qualify as Other Learning Experience events. Support materials for teachers and students are included. Each concert includes interactive elements, and supplies a joyful and unforgettable live concert experience to your students. Demand for our concerts is always high. Focused Ensemble Visit (NEW) (for secondary schools only)
The orchestra ensemble players will visit your school and offer professional coaching to your school orchestra/ band. Successfully selected schools will be offered a total of four visits. The first three visits would give the HK Phil orchestral musicians the chance to work with your school orchestra/ band in a short masterclass. The final visit would see your school orchestra/ band join with the ensemble players for a short concert at school assembly.
