Lorenzo Iosco is the new Bass Clarinetist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, after holding the same position for six years with the London Symphony Orchestra and for three years at Royal Opera House of Madrid (Teatro Real) in Spain.

He worked with Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Opera di Roma, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and has performed with renowned conductors including Valery Gergiev, Bernard Haitink, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle, André Previn, Yuri Temirkanov, Daniel Harding, Semyon Bychkov, Lorin Maazel and John Adams.

As soloist Lorenzo performed Mozart’s clarinet concerto several times in Europe and in Hong Kong, and made his London Wigmore Hall debut in collaboration with the London Conchord Ensemble.

He also studied orchestral conducting with Maestro Piero Bellugi in Florence and he is regularly invited to coach woodwind ensembles at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Orchestra Society and Oxford University.

Before moving to Hong Kong Lorenzo held the position of Professor of Bass Clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music and Royal Academy of Music. He is regularly invited to give masterclasses in Italy, Japan and Australia.

Lorenzo was born in Potenza, Italy in 1985 and studied at the Luigi Cherubini conservatory in Florence where he graduated with first class honours.
